Ulster Park Barn, $329,000

28 ulster avenue ulster park ny

When last we looked at this converted barn in the hamlet of Ulster Park in the town of Esopus, it was $20,000 more expensive. That was back in May 2012. We still like a lot about it, like its quirky character, although there is a striking resemblance between this interior and the inside of a Cracker Barrel country store, but last time we checked Cracker Barrel doesn’t offer its diners access to a wet bar. Nearly 2,000 square feet, this is a large open space, so lots of potential for making it your canvas. Lot size is one acre. This barn would be a great place to display all of those antiquities you’ve been hoarding.

Five-Figure Friday: West Park Dome, $69,900

29 cottage court west park ny

This dome is a bank foreclosure and needs lots of work, both inside and out, but it’s certainly unique, and at least the shell is intact. Size is decent, nearly 2,000 square feet, and it’s located on 2.5 acres in West Park in the town of Esopus, which is a pretty area close to the Hudson River. You’ll need a mortgage pre-qualification letter, and cash buyers will need to provide proof of sufficient funds. Looks like it could be a fun project with a big payoff.

Friday Real Estate Porn: Esopus Stone Farm House, $990,000

If you’ve got about a million bucks to spend and you want a picture-perfect farm house, 31 Church Hill Road might be worth a look. It was built in 1704, and has many original details combined with tasteful updates.

Plus there’s a pool, a pond, three beds and two-and-a-half baths. The Hendrick Smit homestead, says the listing, “dates back to 1704 and is one of the oldest and most significant homes in the Hudson Valley.” It’s on three acres.

Five-Figure Fridays: Esopus Cottage, $75K

You get a lot of cute for your money with this place, if not a lot of space: a one-bed, one-bath house from 1920, with a sweet front porch and a two-car garage. Not a single shot of the interior, and the listing advises that it’s perfect for someone who loves restoring older homes — you can guess what that means. But, at 676 square feet, it can’t cost too much to renovate!
