Upstater is the hub for upstate New York real estate and culture, north of the 'burbs, south of the Adirondacks, east of the Finger Lakes and west of the Connecticut border.

Luckily, the wordplay ends with the event’s title — we’re pretty sure there won’t be dishes named after Jimi Hendrix or Crosby, Stills and Nash. But the fare at this benefit for community radio station WJFF promises to be a delicious sampling of upstate New York’s culinary offerings, reports the Catskill Chronicle. There’s a complete list of vendors here. They’ll offer samplings of their products or dishes and offer items for sale. We’re curious about Cactus Pete’s Beef Jerky and the Lazy Crazy Acres Gelato.
The event is Saturday, May 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Villa Roma Resort’s Tennis Building in Callicoon. You can buy tickets ($20 with wine, $15 without) by calling WJFF: 845-482-4141.

I’ve loved Mark Ruffalo since he sexed-up Michelle Pfeiffer in In the Cut. Here’s further proof I know how to pick ‘em: Mark is not only a full-time Upstater, according to this new New York Times’ piece, he’s also become an anti-fracking activist in his adopted hometown of Callicoon. That rhymes with swoon.
