Barryville Two-Story Farmhouse, $235,000

Poking around this farmhouse’s neighborhood, we discovered this cute B&B right next door. That led us down the road to this cafe and bakery, when we were suddenly overcome with an nigh-irresistible urge to drive to Barryville just for a cannoli milkshake.
But enough talk of milkshakes. This looks like a promising circa-1900s farmhouse with some stained glass and pressed tin ceilings. Decent size lot of 3.85 acres and a great screened-in porch. We suspect it might need some sprucing up to truly make shine, based on the pictures, but it your perfect blank canvas. And, it’s a hop, skip, and jump from the shores of the Delaware River.

Great House, know it well. The only problem with fixer uppers is there is never enough room to fix them up and not be under water on the value. There was a time when that wasn’t true, but a house like this, to be compelling from a value standpoint, would need to be in the low $200′s. Dump $125k in, and be close to what it would be worth all gussied up.
